On Monday 15 October, we host a talk on one of the most iconic actions of World War Two – the taking of Pegasus Bridge in Normandy. Speaker Brian Barkway’s presentation, which starts at 7.30pm, is titled “My father and the taking of Pegasus Bridge”.
Library Chairman Paul Wooddisse said: “This will be a fascinating insight into a piece of history, giving a personal perspective on what turned out to be the precursor to the D Day landings. For anyone with an interest in war history, it is not to be missed.”
The evening is being jointly sponsored by the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and Kinver Community Library. Tickets, priced at £5 each, will include light refreshments.
Booking is advised, either at the library on 01384 872348 or by calling Paul Wooddisse on 01384 372184.
