We’re back in business from Tuesday 8th September when we open at 10am with revised hours. From that date, the library is open from 10am until 1pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only.
The reopening has been carefully organised in line with COVID-secure measures and is set to take place in three distinct phases. Under Phase 1, there will be no public access to the library building, so no copying, computer or other services and all book exchanges will take place in the building’s entrance, with social distancing and PPE in place. A one-way system will operate through the two external gates.
The volunteer team will be on hand to offer two services: Drop-off of borrowed books (a fine amnesty remains in place), which will then go into 72 hour quarantine within the library prior to re-shelving; and Order and Collect, where borrowers will be asked to complete an order form in advance. Orders can be phoned through to the library on 01384 872348, order forms obtained from the library once it is open or orders placed via an online form.
Volunteers will be sourcing the books from Kinver stock (note at this stage the requesting of books from other libraries will not be operating) and will have selected books ready for collection. Unfortunately, ad hoc requests cannot be accommodated – only pre-ordered books can be collected from the library.
The team is very much looking forward to getting back to business and welcoming everyone from the community to the new look library service.
Please keep in touch online and through social media, plus look out for posters and Borrowers’ Bulletin updates, as we work towards offering a fuller service under later Phases of our reopening plan.
