Borrowing, groups, history, advice and a friendly cuppa. Here is everything happening at your village hub.

Everything a library should be.
Book borrowing
An extensive range of titles, fiction and non-fiction, across diverse interest groups, including large print and audio books. New books arrive all the time, and it is easy to order from another Staffordshire library, online or in person.
Younger readers: a dedicated children's library with books for babies through to teenage years.
Book sales
A display of second-hand books for a small fee, which contributes to library running costs.
Internet access
Members can use our public computers and log on with their own PIN, free of charge.
Print, copy & laminate
Available to members and visitors for a small charge.
Room hire
Village organisations can hire the library for meetings for just £15, subject to appropriate security arrangements.
Bus passes
New passes can only be issued online or by Wombourne Library, though we are happy to help with renewals.

We organise regular displays, often with a topical theme, and love to showcase local artists and photographers. Want to show your own work? Get in touch.
Our annual calendar photo competition produces a Kinver Calendar, on sale with Christmas cards from mid-November. We also sell Kinver postcards, notelets and stamps.

LOCAL HISTORY
The Bills Collection
History lovers can explore the extensive archive of the late David Bills, a well-known local historian. Dozens of photographs, illustrations and documents give a fascinating insight into Kinver's past.
It is stored digitally on a computer in the library. Just ask at the counter and explore the database at your leisure.

KEY COMMUNITY GROUP
Support & advice, when you do not know where to turn.
A Key Community Group engages with its community, signposting to other organisations and providing essential information and support. In 2025 we were appointed Key Community Group for Locality 5 (Kinver) by South Staffordshire District Council and Support Staffordshire.
Not sure where to go? Ask our volunteer team. They will point you in the right direction.
Advice sessions
External organisations visit to advise on a range of topics, including quarterly free Citizens Advice drop-ins.
Councillor surgeries
Regular surgeries where you can meet your local councillors.
Community police
Drop-in sessions with the community police.
Pop in for a chat and a hot drink.
We joined the Places of Welcome network in 2025. Our door is open to anyone, library member or not.
