Local author R.E. Hodges will be signing copies of her new novel at Kinver Library on Saturday 17th December, from 10am until midday.

Dark Star Rising is an exciting fantasy written for young adults but it can be enjoyed by all ages.  It’s the second in the four-part Seasons of Verdisland series, a sequel to The King’s Curse and the Summer Son, and its tagline ‘A Pirate Boy… a Girl Queen… like stars they need darkness to shine’ gives a flavour of the perilous journey of self-discovery that’s in store for the protagonists.

For those who like Game of Thrones but would like to share it with their 10-year-old, this may be just the job!

The author has been making up stories all her life, dictating them to her father even before she could write them down.  Now with children of her own, she enjoys writing fiction with family appeal, and although the magical elements are a strong thread, believable characters and a compelling plot are equally important.   For further details, visit her website at kingscurse.co.uk.

If you’re looking for a good read for yourself or as a Christmas present, why not come along and meet R.E. Hodges on Saturday 17th December?  The Library can be found in Vicarage Drive, Kinver DY7 6HJ.
