Lace up those boots, put your best foot forward and explore our beautiful countryside by joining one of two library walks organised for Tuesday 4 June and starting at the Library in Vicarage Drive.

There are two walks catering for different levels of fitness. A longer walk, covering 11.5 miles, starts at 10am and a short walk sets off at 12.30pm to follow a 5.5-mile route. Walkers are asked to bring a packed lunch and ensure footwear/clothing are appropriate for weather conditions.

After a day spent in the local countryside, walkers will be heading back to the Library for around 3.30pm and some well-earned tea and cakes.

“This is a great opportunity to meet new people with a shared interest in walking,” said Library Chairman Paul Wooddisse. “We are hoping that walkers of different levels of fitness will be encouraged to sign-up for what will certainly be a fun and very sociable day out”.

Booking ahead is essential. Please call the Library on 01384 872348 to reserve your place or obtain further information. Cost is just £2 per person.

Please note that the walks are not suitable for dogs, as there are several stiles on both routes.
