Kinver Community Library loves to support local artists, so over the summer, don’t forget to call in and enjoy our exhibitions. During June and July, retired architect Geoff Sidaway is showing a collection of drawings that will delight both local history and cricket enthusiasts.

Geoff’s illustrations of Kinver pubs bring back to life numerous landmark buildings that have long gone. He said: “When we moved to Kinver in 1965, we lived close to The Elm Tree, which became my local, but has sadly since closed. As I looked through local guides and history books, I spotted various other local pubs that had also disappeared over the decades and was inspired to create a lasting record of these very individual buildings. In 1900 there were some 21 pubs in the village and today we have only five!”

In Geoff’s exhibition, you will find the five remaining pubs and many of the inns of bygone eras. He is also exhibiting “Cricket Miscellany”, a series of fun illustrations of cricketing characters. Do visit the library in Vicarage Drive and view his work.
