We are hosting a talk and presentation at 7.30pm on Tuesday 9 July by local author and Kinver resident David A. Hudson. He will be presenting his book “Three Men in Two Canoes”, which was recently launched to critical acclaim at the Whitstable Literary Festival.
David is editor and co-author of the book, which records an epic 1967 180-mile canoeing adventure – undertaken by inexperienced canoeists – travelling down the River Wye, across the Severn Estuary at its highest tide, along the Gloucester Ship Canal and up the River Severn to Kidderminster. This was the first time the total journey had been achieved.
In addition to describing the adventure, David will also explain how he transformed a handwritten log into a successful published book. He will offer advice to other aspiring authors seeking to follow the hard road to publication.
Copies of the book, which brings to life a time, place and culture that existed fifty years ago, will be available to purchase at a discounted price during the evening.
Booking is recommended for this event, which costs £2 per person. Please call the library on 01384 872348 to reserve your place.
