Discover Kinver’s history with our week-long celebration of local heritage. It’s all happening at your library, so don’t miss our programme of activities, which kicks off on Saturday 5 October with a Walk and Talk at 1.30pm from the Clock Tower. Led by Mike Herrington, this informative walk will cover around three miles, mainly on the flat and bring to life some interesting aspects of Kinver history. Cost is just £2 per walker.
All week in the library, there will be a related display of photos and articles touching on topics covered by the Walk and Talk. If you can’t make the walk, why not drop by and see for yourself?
On Monday 7 October, our genealogist Jenny Metcalfe will be presenting a Family History Talk at 7pm. She will be guiding you on how to research your own local family history. Cost is £2, with light refreshments included.
Thursday 10 October is set for a fascinating talk by a local expert on “The History of Kinver – the first 3,000 Years.” The heritage of our village will be brought to life, with some amazing facts and a glimpse of where we came from. The talk starts at 7pm, costs £3 and includes light refreshments.
We hope you enjoy Local History Week, which is part of a wider county-wide programme looking at our heritage.
