Want to discover more about our history? The library building was originally a village school, from the mid-19th century until the 1960s, so we are celebrating the two-month long Staffordshire History Festival with a fascinating exhibition all about Kinver schools. The opening of our exhibition also coincides with National Heritage Week.
We will have photos, documents, anecdotes and memories from former pupils, bringing the story to life. Starting with the National School established in 1851, we will follow the development of education in our village through until recent times.
For those of you who attended the school in the library building, we are also holding a Coffee Morning between 10 am and noon on 28 September. Why not come along and meet old friends, sharing memories of school days? Everyone with an interest in Kinver schools’ history is also very welcome.
